IN MEMORY OF WILMA MAXINE MIDGLEY
Peacefully, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry, at the age of 89. Wilma (nee McCartney), beloved wife of the late Lawrence (2010). Loving mother of Kim(Jim(Dick)) Thomson, Larry (Carol), Julie (Terry) Till and Kelly (Will) Remender. Proud Grandmother of Joel (d), Mindy (Chris), Traci (Brian), Clinton (Rebecca), Evan (Ashley), Lauren (Zac), Carlie (Taylor), Travis and Shelby (Ryan), and great gran to 9.
Wilma was the 4th child of 12 to William and Olive McCartney. Over the years, the family has continued to keep in touch, through family reunions, weddings, and “sisters’ lunches” as long as they were able. Dear Sister of Dorothy Tippett (d), Phyllis Selby (d), Hazel (d), Ruth Underwood, Carol Cleverdon, Vicky Popowich, Barb, Bill, Dan, Mary Heber, Gail Harper (d), sister-in-law, Carol Meek and brother-in-law, Allan (d).
Wilma was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and great grandma. She had a fantastic sense of humour and made the best apple pie. She was an exemplary homemaker, a great athlete, enjoying baseball and bowling. Wilma had been a member of the Port Perry Legion Women’s Auxiliary and the Greenbank Lions Club.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 1:00 - 4:00pm. Tributes will be shared at 2:00pm.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry.
