Passed away peacefully on Saturday April 18, 2026 at the age of 67 years. Loved and deeply missed by his wife of 35 years; Cathy (nee McKerron). Cherished dad of Joe Winnitoy (Dinah Hampson), Leigh Winnitoy (Alex Korda) and Carly Boudreau (Dylan), adored dog dad of Brodie, and new Grandpa of Jamie.
As a lifelong engineer, Bill was a man who could fix just about anything. In the garage, he passed down his love of rebuilding cars by teaching his kids patience, precision, and the perfect playlist along the way. When the work was done, his love of speed took over, whether at a vintage Grand Prix, on an ice racing track, or lining up against his family in go-karts (where he usually won).
When not working on cars, Bill could be found at the cottage with his friends, family, and dogs. As soon as the to-do list was completed, he traded in the toolbox for tow ropes, making it his mission to get anyone and everyone up on water skis.
He loved his family honestly, his dog loyally, and his time at the cottage completely. He leaves behind a lifetime of lessons, laughter, and engines that run better because of him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Friends are invited to share memories, express condolences or make donations www.lowandlow.ca, and always encouraged to take the long way home.
