Trevor BISHOP Obituary

Born the only child to Elsie and Cyril Bishop in Redbridge, England.

Trevor apprenticed under his father as a Model and Pattern Maker for the British Railway.

On December 31st, 1955, he married his lifelong sweetheart, Margaret Evelyn Lewis. They raised 3 children, Ian, and twins, Carol and Lynn.

In 1967, the family emigrated to Canada and they settled in the community of Bay Ridges (Pickering) in 1968. Here they were actively involved in the community as founding members of the Bay Ridges Soccer Association and the East Shore Community Association.

Trevor started his own business, Vari-Crafts as a Model and Pattern Maker for the aero space and auto making industry. He built full size, articulated models for Dowty and the Challenger Jet. His full-size model of the landing gear was on display to rave reviews at the Paris Air Show for it's precision and impression that is was a metal landing gear, although it was completely made from wood.

Trevor and Margaret moved to Uxbridge in 1985 and built their home on a park-like setting on Wagg Road. Trevor enjoyed working on their extensive vegetable and flower gardens. as well as their ponds and walking paths. Trevor's fine craftmanship was seen throughout their property both inside and outside the house.

Trevor was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2012 and in 2017 he became a part of the Reachview Village LTC family.  Our deepest thank you to all the staff at Reachview Village LTC, their care and compassion was exemplary.

Trevor leaves behind his beloved wife Margaret, and children Ian (Jacquie Lockhart), Carol (Denis Langlois) and Lynn (Tom Loach).  He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Tim Bishop (Linsey Ferguson), Owen Langlois, Ben Langlois, Nichola Bendle (Mikhail Clarkson), Scott Bendle (Emily Gabriele) and Laura Loach (Jeremy Corne), and great grandson Hunter Bishop.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Box 388, Uxbridge L9P 1M8 (905-852-3073).
