Thomas Charles Carley June 9, 1960 - October 30, 2024
Our hearts were broken on October 30, 2024 when Thomas Charles Carley beloved husband, father, and friend passed away unexpectedly. He leaves behind his wife, MarLinda Topping and their daughter, McKala, along with his two children from a previous marriage Kyle and Sara and their mother, Debe. He was pre-deceased by his father, Thomas Charles Sr. and survived by his mother, Marguerite and sister, Debbie Drak, her husband and his nephews.
Tom always enjoyed time with his children. He was so grateful when he could spend time with them during the holidays. He took his pizza and turkey very seriously and made sure everyone ate well when they were together. Tom worked at Nurse Chevrolet as a technician and shop foreman. His expertise and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and the community. Tom built lasting friendships throughout his career, and his warm spirit and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Although he worked hard, he also had a lighthearted side. Close friends would know him by his alter ego, Mojito Tom. He enjoyed time with friends, snowmobiling, building around the house, and vacationing. He was quite the animal lover, with three golden retrievers, and for a man who said he was always allergic to cats, he was the one who adopted the one and only cat, Gary.
Although Tom’s passing was unexpected and has left us with heavy hearts, he would want us to focus on the joy he brought to our lives. Instead of a traditional funeral, he wished for a Celebration of Life. At some time soon, we will announce a time and place for us to gather together to share laughter, stories and our wonderful memories. For now, we need time to grieve and process this tragic loss.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tom’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Tom will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His memory is a blessing and will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. In his honour, we hope you will raise a glass of your favorite pint and toast to his memory. “Tom, you will be missed”
