With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of our dear sweet mother, Shirley Kathleen Burton (Chilton, nee. Anderson), who passed on April 17, 2025 with her family by her side. Shirley was born on June 11, 1935 in Islington, Ontario to her parents Thomas H.F.W. and Margaret Anderson (Robinson), and was the last living member of her siblings, her late brothers, Thomas Anderson and William Anderson and her late sister, Marie Reid. Shirley lived in Epsom for many years, raising her 5 children. Later, she lived in Oshawa and surrounding areas as the loving wife of 37 years to the late David Roy Burton. She was a loving mother to her children Larry (Una) Chilton, Donna Chilton, Karen (Jeff) Leeson, Ken (Jean) Chilton, Linda (Brian) Noble, and step-mother to Bonny (Ron) Rahm, and Wendy (Julie) Burton. She was adored by her 15 grandchildren, and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren to continue growing the family tree. Shirley’s greatest joy was the love of her family, and the memories made will be cherished forever.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Epsom-Utica United Church on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 1pm.
