SMITH, Ross Fielding

Uxbridge, Ontario

Ross Fielding Smith, age 77, of Uxbridge, Ontario passed December 12, 2020 in precisely the way he wished - peacefully and at home, with his wife of 57 years, Lorraine, and daughter Lisa at his side, after a lengthy battle with Leukemia and Congestive Heart Failure. Predeceased by parents Alan and Ethel and brother Doug, he is survived also by his sons Jeff and Steve, children-in-law Fleur, Kim and Graham, and his grandchildren Matthew, Brinna, Dew, Rigel, Aidan, Tay, Liam, and Kyle, and his many nieces and nephews.

Ross is remembered as an industrious but quiet man who was always busy with a project or ten plus a passion for playing his tenor saxophone. His curious mind and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by his family and by the many friends who were drawn to Ross from all walks of life for his easy-going nature and abundant good humor.

In light of Covid, there will be a small Private Funeral attended by immediate family and live streamed for relatives and friends on December 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. To access the live stream, click here. The family would also like to thank Dr. Matilda Ng, oncologist at the MacKenzie Health Centre, and the staff of Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Donations can be made in Ross's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
