It is with profound sadness and an overwhelming sense of loss that we announce the passing of our dear mother and beloved “Grammy”. Ruth Eleanor Stone passed away at home peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, November 12, 2021 in her 93rd year. Safely in the arms of Jesus. Ruth was the loving mother to Dan (Judy), Jane-Anne (Michael) and the late beloved son Paul (Lorna). She will be sadly missed by her 9 grandchildren Christy (Rob), Suzanne (Chris), Jessica (Syd), Rebecca (Manjula) Jonah (Nicole), Daniel (Katie), Emma Jane (Evan), Jim (Tina) and Erin (David). Loving Great Grammy to 12 great grandchildren. Ruth will be dearly missed by all members of the Shortly family as well as those friends who knew her through her amazing artistic talent.

Ruth was the matriarch of our family, and she loved unconditionally. Her bright smile, Irish twinkle and warmth will be forever missed. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will take place next Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity important to you in her name.
