Roy was born on May 9, 1946, and passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Above all else, Roy was a devoted family man whose greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. He was a cherished grandfather to Kalvin (Haley Kendrick), Jaylin (Parker Perigo), Ryanna (Iain Cowie), Kylie (Davis Homenuck), Spencer, Edwin, and Wesley. They were truly his favourite thing in the world, and he took immense pride in each of them, treasuring every moment spent together.
Roy was a kind, gentle, and deeply loving man. He was the devoted husband of Marilyn (nee Harris), and a proud and loving father to Kevin Puckrin (Julie, nee Elliott), Tara-Lynne Puckrin (Jerrett Wichman), and Ryan Puckrin (Penni-Lee, nee Wheeler). He was the son of Fred and Mildred Puckrin (deceased). Brother to Keith Puckrin (Diane), Nancy Puckrin (deceased) Lynda Davis (deceased) and Dianne Hooker (Gord).
Roy and Marilyn bought the farm in Seagrave in 1969 where they built a fantastic life on a beautiful property. Soon after buying the farm he left his job at DuPont to farm full time. Roy loved the open road and treasured the many road trips he took over the years with his brother and close friends, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and stories.
He also gave generously of his time to his community and was a dedicated member of the Seagrave Park Board committee for many years, where his commitment and care made a lasting impact.
Those who knew Roy will remember his kindness, his quiet strength, and the love he showed so freely to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to family, hard work, community service, and a life well lived. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Arrangements entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home, Port Perry (905-985-7331) Donations in Roy's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region. The family of Roy Puckrin invites you to join us as we celebrate his life on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 1p.m. to 4p.m. at the Little Britain Community Hall, 9 Arena Rd, Little Britain.
Roy never liked being the centre of attention. He wasn’t a fan of suits or formal clothes … but he did love seeing his friends and family together, sharing time and stories.
So instead of a formal service, we invite you to come celebrate a life well lived. Dress comfortably, plaid encouraged if you’d like to honour Roy. Come with your stories and memories, because we’d truly love to hear them.
