Rose Marie (Strong) Geer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marie on May 27, 2024 at Victoria Manor in Lindsay.  Beloved wife for almost 60 years of the late George Bruce “Dick” Geer (2015).  Loving mother of Dave (Pam), Randy (Carolyn), and predeceased by Ricky (1983) and Dale (2022) and survived by daughter-in-law Maureen.  Cherished grandmother of Carl, Rick, Chelsea (Billy), Crystal, Travis, Tyler, Adam, Nick (Tabea), Pat (Sarah), Elysia (Adam), and great grandmother of Caelan, Camdyn, Hayes, Piper, Thea, Cyrus and Gregor.  Dear sister of Ruby (Harvey) Dearborn, Joyce (Alan) Ashton, Isabelle (John) Vernon and the late June (Gary) McHugh. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and her extended family.

Dick and Marie enjoyed many great years on their family farm in Utica.  Along with hard work and dedication to the farm and family, they lived a full life.  They were active in their community and loved to travel to Saturday night dances and attend all of the events at the Utica Hall.  Marie loved to knit and crochet and made many beautiful gifts.  She always had a huge garden and baked pies every day.  They raised their four boys, and enjoyed making memories with them and their beloved grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Low & Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry on Thursday, May 30th from 7:00-9:00pm, and on Friday, May 31st from 10:00-11:00am.  A service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11:00am.

In memory of Marie, donations may be made to the Port Perry Hospital foundation or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
