It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Clark Bruce Brown on October 6th, 2024, at the age of 89. He passed peacefully in his sleep, in the comfort of his home in Uxbridge, Ontario after a brief battle with a second round of skin cancer. He has been reunited with the love of his life and his best friend, Doreen (Harper), who passed away on October 27th, 2014.
The oldest son of Frank and Ila (Hastings) Brown (both predeceased), he was born in Scarborough and raised in Markham, Ontario. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his siblings Jack, Murray (Betty Patterson), Fred (Sandra Russell), Glen (Donna Orser), Dan and brother-in-law Larry Skelton. He is predeceased by his beloved sister, Barbara Skelton.
Ray and Doreen married on September 24th, 1955, built a home on the family farm and they had three children. He is the loving father of Stephen (Cindy-Lou Goodie (predeceased)), James (Nicola Ransom) and Leanne Tummon (Ryan), as well as proud Papa to his grandchildren, Taylor, Jamie, Mackenzie, Rachel, Emily, Kendra and Evan. In addition, he is Uncle Ray, to many special nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed spending time with. He is deeply loved, and his memory will forever live in our hearts.
A heartfelt thank you to Terri Pilkey, whose loving and compassionate care in those final weeks brought much comfort to both him and his family.
We invite you to celebrate his life with friends and family at Low and Low Funeral Home in Uxbridge. Visitation will take place on Saturday October 26th from 2pm to 4pm and Sunday October 27th from 1 pm to 2 pm, with a service to take place immediately following. A reception will follow the service, and we invite all to reminisce, reconnect and share stories.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Uxbridge Loaves and Fishes Food Bank, which he often supported. Memories and words of condolence can be left at www.lowandlow.ca.
