Norman Eugene Meek

Passed away peacefully at Port Perry Hospital on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 in his 90th year.  Loving husband of Carol (nee Midgley) for 60 years and exceptional father of Sonya.  Son of Milburn and Audrey Meek and always full of mischief with his siblings Bob, Ona, Helen and Gerald.  Norm ran a successful dairy operation on the family farm south of Sandford until he retired at age 83 and moved to Port Perry.  He played active roles in his community, his church and, like his father, for over 50 years he was an active member of Zeredatha Masonic Lodge, including participation as a Grand Lodge Officer. Norm had a deep love of nature and an inquisitive mind that sparked his enjoyment of flying, fishing, hunting and woodworking.  He will be dearly remembered for his kindness, generosity, and most of all for his wonderful sense of humour that always made us laugh. 

Visitation and memorial service have been entrusted to Low & Low, Port Perry Chapel, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905-985-7331).  Visitation will be held Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 12p.m. followed immediately by a memorial service at 2p.m.  The service will conclude with a Masonic service led by Zeredatha Lodge masons.  A Celebration of Life reception will immediately follow at the Chapel.  A private burial will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.

Please RSVP to Low & Low Funeral Home (905-985-7331) between the hours of 9a.m. and 5p.m. to attend the memorial service.  For all those attending the Chapel, please respect the family’s request that face masks be worn and physical distances be respected wherever possible.  A Livestream link will be available the day of the service for those who wish to attend virtually.
