Nancy Margaret (Campbell) Dobbin

Nancy passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the age of 88. Nancy is now reunited with her beloved husband, Gary.  Loving mother of Jeff (Mirella) Dobbin, Sherri (Don) Greig, Wendy Dobbin, and Pamela (Reg) Gole and sister of Heather Yetman. Cherished Grandma (aka G’ma) of Jessica, Julia, Brandan, Krista, Adam, Matthew, Cameron, Isla, and Shaefer, and proud great-grandma to eleven sweeties.

Nancy lived a full and beautiful life. Her passion for playing the piano was a constant source of joy and comfort through both good times and difficult ones. Family gatherings were often topped off with her showstopping rendition of Flight of the Bumblebee — always played from memory, never with sheet music. Nancy’s baking was legendary, and every family member has a favourite dish lovingly made by Mom or G’ma.

Creative to her core, Nancy was always knitting, sewing, gardening, or working on some new craft. Much of what inspired her centred around her home and family, creating a space filled with warmth, love, laughter, and delicious food.

Nancy’s life was not without hardship. She lost her mother, Marjorie, at a young age, and faced many health challenges throughout the years. Yet she rarely dwelled on the negative. Her love story with Gary spanned more than 75 years, remaining strong until his passing in 2023. Her devotion to her family was evident in everything she did.  While our mother and G’ma is no longer with us, our hearts are overflowing with treasured memories and gratitude for the love she gave so freely. We were incredibly lucky to call her ours.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Sunday, June 14, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Jackson Hall, 244 Brock Street South, Whitby. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to Oak Ridges Hospice. Memories and condolences may also be shared at lowandlow.ca.
