Michael Lubiniecki

Passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Terrace, Oshawa on Saturday June 8, 2024 at the age of 94 years.  Husband of the late Myrtle Bernice (nee Butler), Cherished Dad of Dwight Lubiniecki (Hye Yong ) and Michelle Charlton (Stephen).  Dearly remembered by his grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Rebecca Charlton and Sophia Lubiniecki.Survived by one sister Stella Kotyk and predeceased by brother Tony Lubiniecki.

Michael Lubiniecki was born in 1929 in Dauphin, Manitoba, and worked hard on his parent's farm before walking several miles to attend school. He relocated to Toronto in his late teens, where he worked for 43 years as an engineer, yardmaster, supervisor, and yardman for Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). At the Toronto Central YMCA, Dad took part in sports and went swimming, played handball, and wrestled. Playing gin rummy, flying private planes, and listening to Canadian fiddle music were among his other pastimes. Michael was an amateur chef of sorts, and he enjoyed eating at Fran's Restaurant on Yonge and St. Clair and Sai Woo's Chinese restaurant on Dundas.  

A funeral service will be held at Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge on Saturday June 15, 2024 at 12:00 PM with visitation to commence at 11:00 AM.  Reception to follow.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cancer Society, Dementia and Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by Michael’s family.  Friends may send condolences or make donations visiting www.lowandlow.ca
