It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Meghan Dunn (nee Bomballa) on Wednesday October 18, 2023 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 38. Her passing has deeply touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Meghan was a kind, gentle and loving person who was always willing to put others first. Meghan’s journey in life began at North York General Hospital, where she was welcomed with open arms and bright smiles. Life eventually led Meghan back to her birthplace where she was a respected emergency room nurse. Meghan’s colleagues at both North York General Hospital and later Lakeridge Health Port Perry, remember her with immense fondness. Her tireless compassion, unwavering dedication and ever-present smile on her face made her a beacon of hope for those she cared for.
Beyond her remarkable career, Meghan was a devoted wife to her loving husband Matt and a nurturing mother to their cherished daughter Emma. Her late father Michael, mother Nancy, sister Ashley, and brother-in-law John, were fortunate to have Meghan as a source of love and support. Meghan shared a special bond with nieces Avery and Kate who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Meghan’s warmth extended to Matt’s family including her mother-in-law Dianne (Ron) and brothers Michael (Melissa), Andrew (Debbie) and James (Jillian) along with their children Aidan, Kinley, William and Logan.
Meghan's circle of loved ones also included her extended family, many friends and colleagues who were all touched by her caring nature.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the first responders and staff at both Lakeridge Health Port Perry and Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their care and kindness.
Meghan’s legacy is one of love, compassion and selflessness. Her final act was giving the gift of life to others through organ donation. She leaves behind a world that is richer for having known her, and her memory will be with us always.
Visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905)985-7331 on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm, and on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 4:00-6:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on on Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 12:00-2:00pm, tributes will be shared at 12:30pm.
