It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Harrison (nee Little) on April 9, 2025, just short of her 90th birthday by 5 days. Mary loved her 65 years spent together with Gordon who passed away in 2021. Brian (Marilyn), June (Roger) and Blair (Irene) were very lucky to have Mary as their mother. Mary was a special grandma to Melissa (Cam), Lisa (Mike), Lauren (Stephen), and Brooke (David) and a loving great grandma to Sloane, Ella and Myles and Lemy. Predeceased by her sister Doreen but still enjoyed time and conversations with her brother Jack.
Mary was proud of her farming roots in Beaverton and the Harrison family farm with Gordon in Leaskdale. Mary was one of the few farming wives that also dedicated a long and enriching career as a teacher. She graduated Teachers College at 17 and taught at many one room school houses while ending her career at Zephyr and Scott Central Public Schools. Mary and Gordon were always ready for a game of euchre and loved to dance and travel. Mary loved a party and for many years created special memories hosting family and friends at the farm and cottage. Her kids and all their friends are forever grateful for allowing what seemed like continuous gatherings in her homes.
Mary was always there to help others when in need. Her heart was big but unfortunately was the one thing that let her down in the end. In lieu of flowers please just get together with someone you love or donate to the Uxbridge Food Bank. The family has decided to have a private service and appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge (905-852-3073). For online condolences, please visit www.lowandlow.ca
