The family of Mark Gerald Owen is saddened to announce his passing on Monday January 22, 2024 at the age of 59 years.
He is survived by his wife Wendy, his step daughters Jessica (Rob) and Michelle, and his granddaughters; Rayna, Lily, Zoey, and Sophie. He will be sadly missed by his mother Barbara, his brothers Ken (Liz) and Tim, and his sister Margaret. Lovingly remembered by his nephews Trevor, Bradley, Matthew, Robert, and Jacob, his nieces Michelle and Ashley, and his many aunts, uncles, relatives, friends, and colleagues.
Mark was a man without a filter, which was useful in embarrassing both of his little brothers when they were growing up and making those around him laugh until they cried. He had a big heart and left an impact on all who met him. Mark was a proud and amazing uncle and an even better grandfather. He did not hesitate to jump all in when his first granddaughter was born, quickly going from Mark to Marky, and lived for them ever since. He spent countless hours playing with his granddaughters in the snow and the pool, spoiled them with every toy imaginable, and taught them how to sneak extra treats when Nanny wasn’t looking.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Port Perry Hospital and Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering for their care of Mark.
Arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Port Perry. At Mark’s request, no service will be held. Memorial donations may be made in Mark’s name to the Sick Kids Foundation, a cause for which he was always a strong supporter.
