Margaret Joy Fearnley Obituary

At 1:55 am on Thursday, September 2, 2021, she passed away at her home in Bobcaygeon, with family by her side.  Known to most as Joy Fearnley, she leaves behind, her three sons; Richard, Steven, and Jamie; her daughters-in-law, Annette, and Joyce; her Grandchildren, Emily, Alex, Rachel, Andrew, and Jaclyn; and her Great Grandchildren Jameson and Skyler; her husband Dave Boswell; and her second family through him, of Chris and Denise, Cathy and her children Mathew, Andrew, Natalie, and Anneliese; and Lesa and her children Maggie and Emma. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street S., Uxbridge (905-852-3073) on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 9a.m. to 11a.m. Funeral Service will be held virtually at 11a.m.

The family has decided to plant a tree at the cottage in memory of their mother Joy. If you wish to donate towards the Memorial Tree, please contact Rick Fearnley directly at (416) 938-8672.

She loved her friends and family more than anything in the world and would love nothing more than to have everyone one of you attend both her viewing and her Celebration of Life service. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions and the safety of all Joy’s loved ones, we are limited to a strict number of people that can attend the service. Having to limit the attendance at Joy’s Celebration of Life service is painful for us and trust that you understand.  The good news is that everyone can come to the viewing.

For this reason we ask that those of you who will not be attending the service please try to pay your respects during the early hours of Joy’s viewing, ideally in the 9am to 10am time window. For those of you that wish to attend the viewing AND the Celebration of Life service, please try and come to the viewing in the time window of 10am to 11am.

Everyone that comes to the viewing will have appropriate time to see Joy and offer condolences to her family. But, no one is allowed to stay and congregate. Please understand this stipulation is not our desire, but rather the rules of the funeral establishment. The service will be reserved for Joy’s family and her closest friends. This restriction will most likely not allow others outside this group to attend the service. However, if you have a strong desire to do so please reach out to us and ask if it can be made possible.

For those that wish to attend but cannot due to the limitations we are forced to impose, we have hired a professional to live stream the service. If you are coming to the viewing and will not be staying for the service, we recommend bringing a laptop or tablet with you and finding a local place to sit and relax to view the service at 11a.m.  The link for this streaming option will be available from the Low & Low funeral home web site.  We have asked the funeral home if it was possible to stay on the premises and do this, but we have been told this is not allowed within the parameters of their restrictions.  Alternatively, a video will be provided and available for download for future viewing after the service.

If at all possible, please park close by and then walk together (with those who are part of your bubble) to the entrance of the building. Since on site parking is limited to very few spaces, please allow time to find parking nearby and then walk to the entrance together. The plan is to have those within their home bubble walk through the visitation area together, to facilitate the viewing.  In this way, we hope to have as many people as possible attend Joy's viewing.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
