LYNNE WONNACOTT (nee ANDERSON)
1946 - 2023
Sadly, we announce the passing of Lynne Wonnacott.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 51 years, Stanley; mother of Shad, Adam (Lindsay) and Brian (Thelma); Grammie of Lucas, Nate, Bennett & Charlie; sister of Joan and Diane; sister-in-law of Bill & Mary Wonnacott; and countless other family members, friends and neighbors.
Born and raised in Comox BC, Lynne moved to Ontario to begin her adult life. She built her life, home and family on Purple Hill . Lynne was committed to her boys and delighted in their personal and business ventures. She spent decades creating hundreds of unique quilts for family, friends and various community organisations. Her quilts are one of a kind pieces that often include a splash of purple and her signature pinwheel. When not quilting, she enjoyed reading and watching baseball games. Without fail, Lynne enjoyed walking her dogs twice daily and would often invite the company of others on the Hill. We will greatly miss her stoicism, steadfastness, practicality and diligence. We will also greatly miss her generosity and her expressions of love through food. Any thing purple will forever remind us of her.
We take comfort in knowing that Lynne passed peacefully under the attentive care by the wonderful staff and volunteers at Oak Ridges Hospice. Additionally, she was very well loved and cared for by Bill & Mary Wonnacott. Our gratitude cannot be measured.
A private service will be held for immediate family. She will be laid to rest at Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby.
Anyone wishing, donations may be made to Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry.
