Louise (Gosse) Cook Obituary
Louise Cook passed away peacefully at Lakeview Manor, Beaverton, on the evening of Monday, January 20th 2025 at the age of 100. Lovingly remembered by her son Alec (June). Nanny will always be loved and remembered by her grandchildren Verne (Jill), Burke (Robyn), Rachel (Ben), Suzanna (Monty) and Dave and by her 10 great grandchildren Kaleb, Ember, Emily, Elora, Gavin, Jack, Emma, Iris, Drew and Mark. Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband Hillary, son Verne (Karen) and three brothers, Hayward, Ralph and Bill Gosse.
Louise was loved by friends and family alike for her hospitality and care for others. She always enjoyed reminiscing of her fond memories and shared this through her sense of humour and storytelling.
Louise was born in St John's, Newfoundland and ‘down home’ was always a part of her. Hillary and Louise settled in Ontario but she always enjoyed her visits back to Newfoundland. She was a wonderful mother and loved her home making role doting on her little family. Louise had a strong faith and love for God and on every occasion extended that love to others. She was always keen to share a thought from the bible or mention a hymn that inspired her faith to grow. Louise was a wonderful example of selfless love and an encouragement to always trust in God’s guidance.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Lakeview Manor for all their care and compassion. A Funeral Service will be held at the Low & Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905-985-7331) on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 1:30p.m. A livestream of this service will be available. A reception will follow the service. Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
