Louis Formosa Obituary

“He was such a gentle and kind man”, are generally the thoughts about Louis Francis Formosa  (B. Oct 11, 1938), who passed peacefully with his sons Mark ( Vicki )  and John (Lynnette) by his side , March 18, 2026 after a short battle.

Brother to Albert, Godfrey, Doris, and Lina. Louis was the youngest, survived by his sister Yolanda. Grandfather to Jessica, Brett, Nik and Ben, great grand daughter, Olivia. Leaving family and friends behind in Malta in the 60’s, he traveled to Canada with his beautiful wife Connie to start a new life together, begin their family and raise their two boys.

He was always finding his joy listening and talking to family and friends. He enjoyed traveling and was lucky enough to visit his native Malta a few times. Lou was always smiling, having a chat with friends and neighbours out on the driveway while taking a break from lawn care. He enjoyed photography and took fantastic photos, and his favorite photo , was of his love Connie while camping. He enjoyed golfing and was out on the course usually once a week with his friends and always loving the day, maybe not the score.

Lou was always one to look on the bright side of everything, always working to keep others smiling and happy, which was part of his soul and his true being. Lou had his ongoing health battles, which sidelined him much too often, but he still had a positive outlook, he would deal with the health issues, bounce back and say “ okay, now what do you have for me”? This past Dec, he had a fall in his garage, fracturing his right shoulder in three places, and sadly, spent three months in hospital. Feb 18, we moved him into a beautiful assisted living facility, as at this point, he had lost muscle mass in his legs and was wheelchair bound. Once in his new condo, he started eating much better, smiling more, but he still wasn’t himself.

Lou and John had many talks through the years with their weekly timmies meetings for tea and Boston crème donuts , discussing life, weather, family, photography, his golf games, and so much more. He will be truly missed, from the gleam in his eyes , his smile or his silly jokes. He is with the one true love of his, Connie. Please remember Lou with happy thoughts and memories.

A private family service will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073. Donations in memory of Lou may be made to the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto. For online condolences, please visit www.lowandlow.ca

Rest in peace with God.
