Lionel Gordon Henry

While being held closely by his wife Carole and in the presence of his sister Loretta and sister-in-law Jan, Lionel died at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the age of 71 years.  Loved and missed by Carole (nee Reid), cherished father of Kevin and Heather (Andrew) and adored granddad of Adelaide and Maeve.

Lionel was from a large family which included his mom Marie and father John and siblings John (Shirley), Dave (Debbie), Bob (deceased) / (Lenore), Paul (Barb), Anne (John), Mary (Jim), Loretta (Duncan), Chuck  (Lea-Anne) and Bill (Elaine).  Also left to mourn him are Carole’s siblings Geoff (Jan), Peter (Bonnie), Mike (Mary Ellen) and Jeanette (Norm) and innumerable nieces and nephews.   He will also be missed by many great friends.

Lionel was a wonderful man who was liked by all who met him with his welcoming smile, gentle ways, easy humour and loving nature.  He was a very smart man who could spout facts about all manner of things and loved anything to do with math.  He was an avid runner and when he had to give that up, became an enthusiastic cyclist.  He was also a life-long fan of the Maple Leafs and will probably still be cheering them on from Heaven.

Visitation will be held at Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from ­­­­3:00 to ­­­­­­­6:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Parish, 70 Toronto Street North, Uxbridge on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.  Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Private cremation at a later date.
