Linda Scharien

Passed away peacefully with family by her side at The Woodhaven LTC, Markham on Wednesday May 15, 2024 at the age of 77.  Loving and supportive wife of Ted.  Incredibly loving and caring mother of Christine (Blake Volpe) and Steven (Bonnie Nicholson). Gramma will always be loved and remembered by Michael and Victoria.  Also survived by her sister Elaine Haylow (late Frank).  Linda is predeceased by her parents (Fred & Vera Mayfield) and leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Linda was a talented seamstress, everything from alterations to home decor. She was an avid animal lover and community supporter, spending her retirement years volunteering with the Ladies Auxiliary for Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.

In addition to being a wonderful and caring mother for her family, Linda was loved by all who met her, and was "mum" to many.

The family would like to thank the Nurses and PSWs at The Woodhaven LTC for their wonderful care and compassion, especially during Linda's final days.

Cremation has been entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge.  A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
