Joanne Grace Scruton passed away peacefully in her sleep with family at her side on Wednesday May 8th at the age of 84. Joanne will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 63 years, Stanley Scruton, her son, Mark Scruton (Peggy), her daughter, Lara Knape (Jim), her three grandchildren, Bryar, Kyra and Justine, as well as her sister, Lois Seaman and niece, Pam Keppie.
Joanne will be remembered for her kind heart, generous nature, competitive spirit, witty sense of humour, and her love of her family and friends, especially her cherished grandchildren. Joanne had many talents, hobbies and interests, and was successful at whatever she set her mind to, including an accomplished career with Bell Canada of more than 30 years. Joanne was also very active within her community and regularly volunteered at the local foodbank to help those in need. Most importantly, Joanne will be remembered for how she made a positive impact in the lives of everyone around her, filling our hearts with love, laughter and joy!
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Douglas Crossing for their compassionate care and kindness. Cremation has been entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge. A celebration of Joanne’s life will be held in Uxbridge and Wasaga Beach at a later date.
