Passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 6, 2025, at the age of 88 years. Cherished husband of the late Dorothy (nee Kennedy) of almost 65 years. Much loved Father to Darryl (Michelle) Worsley and Lisa (Michel) Worsley-Simard. Lovingly remembered by his granddaughters, Chantal, Sophia and Claire. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Florence Worsley (nee Rodgers). Loving brother to Heather (Irwin) Brown and the late Ken (Donna) Worsley and brother-in-law to Clarence (Elsie) Kennedy and the late William (Marlene) Kennedy.
Jim will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Jim grew up on his family’s farm near Cambray, attended high school in Lindsay and went on to have a long and successful career with Bell Canada. He always volunteered in the communities he lived, whether in Markham or Port Perry. He coached boys’ hockey and girls’ softball in Markham for years, helped lead local ratepayer and community associations and volunteered for years with St. Andrews United Church in Markham and later Port Perry United Church. Together, Jim and Dorothy restored an old log cottage near Omemee and loved spending time there with family and friends on weekends and holidays for 50 years. Jim loved the outdoors and was most happy paddling his canoe down the river, taking a ride on his snowmobile or ATV on a trail and simply being together with his family and close friends.
A Funeral Service will be held from Low & Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry on August 11th at 11:00 a.m. Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. Private family interment.
As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Port Perry United Church Building Fund, Port Perry Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice. Friends may send condolences or make donations at www.lowandlow.ca
