Passed away at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on June 15, 2026 at the age of 85 years. Husband of Sylvia (nee Lawrence). Loved and missed by his children Adam (Mirela) and Ann Bradbury (Sean), grandchildren Madeline, Eliza, Leonardo, Celina, and Lucas, and by his sister Joyce Shehan (late Peter). Predeceased by his sister Shirly Anderson (Peter).
James was a wise, soft-spoken, gentle, and loyal man who loved nothing more than his family and helping loved ones. If you knew James well, you’d know that he was passionate about the work he did for GM and his creations in his woodshop. His love of animals was fostered at a young age as he raised cattle and Clydesdale horses on his family’s farm. He also, very specifically, really loved onions – growing them, cooking with them, eating them. James was often quiet, but when he spoke, he always had something meaningful to say; often thoughtful and humorous. He will forever be remembered for his kindness and generosity of time.
A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Low & Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry on Sunday August 23, 2026 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. A Masonic Ceremony and memories will be shared at 2:00 PM.
In memory of Jim, please consider a donation to a Port Perry United Church or Port Perry’s Masonic Hall. Friends are invited to send condolences or make donations by visiting www.lowandlow.ca.
