With profound sadness the family of James Enos Blackburn announces his peaceful passing surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 at the age of 88. Predeceased by his father Bertwin Blackburn and his mother Jenny (Bowman), as well as sister Iva (Bill), Harvey (Luella), Jean, and is survived by sister Elaine (Doug) and sister Enid (the late Murray). James leaves behind his loving wife Lois (Morrison) of 64 years, his daughters Sherri (Brad), Shauna (Greg), and his son Steven (Tino). Proud Grandpa to Emelie, Jakob, Juliana, James, and Cameron and many little fur babies. Dear brother-in-law of Doris (the late Morley), the late Harvey (the late Betty), the late Marilyn (the late Ken), the late Marvin (the late Shirley), the late Robert (Margaret), the late Russell (Marlene), the late Yvonne (the late Barry), the late Kenny (the late Elva), the late Carmen (Sheila), Brian (Judy), the late Barry (Kay), the late Rene (Bev), Gerry (Lynda), Jack, and the late Bill. He will lovingly be remembered by many nieces and nephews. James had a strong belief in the value of education and continuous learning. James taught for 39 years with the North York Board of Education and inspired and mentored many students to achieve their goals.
There will be a service for James at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street S. Uxbridge (905-852-3073) on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 2p.m. with visitation one hour prior. James will be laid to rest at the Uxbridge Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, Jim has asked that donations be made to Wildlife Preservation Canada.
