Passed away at Oak Valley Health, Uxbridge on Tuesday June 11, 2024 at the age of 77. Husband of the late Valerie (nee Humphrey). Predeceased by his brother Trevor, he will be missed by his sons; Sean, Jeff (Amy), brother Adrian, nieces Crystal (Trinity), Brianne, Karly (Matt), Jacquelyn and Courtney, nephews Andrew (Jessica) and Adam (Sam) granddaughter, Paige, and grandson Kane as well as his many friends.
Rod was born in Ireland and lived there with his parents James and Elizabeth and brother Adrian until 1954 when they immigrated to Canada. His professional life was spent as a civil engineer at Enbridge Gas, which he very much enjoyed. He was also an avid golfer, sailor and craftsman, and was very humorous. Many thanks to the staff, nurses and doctors at Oak Valley Health and to his caregiver Cherry for their kindness and support over the last couple of months.
Cremation has been entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge Chapel. A private interment ceremony will be held for family at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at his home in Zephyr at a later date, details to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated by Rod’s family. Friends and family may send condolences or make donations by visiting www.lowandlow.ca
