Gerardus "George" William Koppens

With heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Gerardus “George” William Koppens at Lakeridge Health Port Perry on April 17, 2022, at 82 years of age. Beloved husband of Marion. Devoted father to Carole Heffernan (Craig), John Koppens, Monique Koppens, Dave Benedet (Susan) and Steve Benedet (the late Bonnie). Adoring grandfather of Emily and Nicholas (Shelby) Heffernan, Jessica, Meredith and Andrew Koppens, Alyssa (Utsav) and Jake (Jessica) Benedet, Matthew and the late Mark Benedet. Proud great grandfather of Benjamin Heffernan. Dear brother to Martin, Carl, William, Chris, Joanne and Bert. Pre-deceased by his sister Elizabeth and brothers John and Renie. Remembered by his brothers in law and sisters in law, nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905-985-7331) on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 2p.m. to 4p.m. and 7p.m. to 9p.m. Service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 11a.m. in the chapel. A reception will immediately follow the service on the upper level. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
