Florence Forsyth Obituary

The family of Florence Forsyth (nee Wright) are saddened to announce her passing at Lakeview Manor in Beaverton on January 19, 2024. Florence was predeceased by her loving husband Donald Stephen Forsyth, her two sons Donald (Butch) and Lawrence (Larry) and grandson Andrew. She is survived by her sons William ‘Bill’, Paul, Stephen ‘Ted’ (Debbie), her daughter Nancy and three grandchildren Greg, Tammy and Amanda.

Florence was born in Toronto April 11, 1932. She was raised in Cooksville, Ontario, where she met her husband, Donald. They were married on February 21, 1952 and settled in Uxbridge where they raised six children.

Don and Flo were very active in the Royal Canadian Legion, Uxbridge and Flo was very supportive of the Uxbridge Legion Pipe Band. She was affectionately known as the “band mom” by the young members as she always had a band aid, aspirin or supportive word when needed.

For many years they enjoyed a trailer site in Haliburton Forest where cherished friendships were made. She loved her forest family. Thanksgiving was always special having the family together sharing a meal and good times.

Many thanks to the nursing staff at Lakeview Manor for the excellent and supportive care. We are truly grateful to have such a wonderful facility in our area.

There will be no funeral service, as was her wish, but a Celebration of Life will be arranged at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home in Uxbridge.
