Passed away peacefully, at Glen Hills Terrace, Whitby on Wednesday April 2, 2025 at the age of 88 years. Cherished husband of beloved Brenda (nee Gazey). Loving father of Don (Judy) and Steve (Jeannie). Predeceased by cherished daughter Cathy, brother Gary, and parents Frank and Ella. Grandpa will always be loved and remembered by his grandchildren: Angela, Marc (Isabelle), Elise (Mark), Kelsie (Derek), Matthew and Stephanie (Jason) and great grandchildren; Emily, Charlie, Ella, Liam, Claire and Leo. Also remembered by his sister Pat (Peter), sisters-in-law Rosemary (Hans) and Ann, and brother-in-law Bob (Barbara).
After graduating from Ryerson as a computer engineer, Brien married Brenda moved to Guildwood Village in Scarborough and worked a long and successful career at IBM. Throughout his life he was an active member at Ferndale Baptist Church in Scarborough and later, at Uxbridge Baptist upon retirement to that community.
Brien loved to tease and make people laugh. He could fix almost anything mechanical or electrical and enjoyed restoring vintage radios. He also loved cars and could tell you the year, make, and model of every one he ever owned. He was rarely defeated at the game of crokinole and could play the violin by ear.
Brenda was the love of his life; and unfortunately, he passed away one month short of their 66th wedding anniversary. He was a great dad to Cathy, Don and Steve and always put his family first. He will be greatly missed by everyone who loved him.
A memorial ceremony will be held at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge (905-852-3073) on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 1p.m. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to World Vision or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. Friends are invited to send condolences by visiting www.lowandlow.ca
