Eric Sjöblom

It is with great sadness we announce the tragic passing of Eric Sjöblom on Friday, March 7, 2025.  Loving husband of Samantha (nee Riddell) and devoted father to Ellie (4) and Clark (1.5). Eric is loved & remembered by his mother Brigitte (Brian), father Ted and stepfather Jim.

Eric was loved & cherished without limit by his dearly departed grandparents, Oma &  Opa and Papa Sam & Grandma Kaarina. 

Also deeply missed by his brothers, sisters and their partners; Josh (Krysia), Zach (Katie), Rebecca , Marina (Ben) and Shania.

Eric’s loss is felt greatly across his beloved extended family, including his parents-in-law, Robin & Gary and Jamie & Julie  and sisters-in-law, Emma (Kyle), Elayna & Jayme.  Also remembering Eric are his many cousins, countless dear friends and co-workers.

And of course, Eric’s beloved dogs.  While Zebby will be missing playtime with dad, the recently departed Bentley is no doubt overjoyed at being reunited for long walks in the forest with him.

Eric was a proud and well-respected tradesman.  He was a loyal friend, devoted family man, dog-lover and a kind soul.  He loved Lego, Star Wars and the outdoors.  He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed spending time with his friends & family.  The greatest joy of his life was being husband to his dear wife Sam and adoring father to his children, Ellie & Clark.

All are welcome and encouraged to join us in A Celebration of Life on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 11:00am – 2:00 PM at the York Region Police Association building, 63 Eric T Smith Way, Aurora.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Project Confetti would be greatly appreciated.  Project Confetti is a community-based project that supports the Children’s Health Unit at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Participants provide a one-of-a-kind box filled with gift and goodies to help bring a smile to a child's face when they are staying in the hospital.  Contact via projectconfettica@gmail.com
