Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband, Ed. Edith will be dearly missed by her son Rob/Bob and his wife Jan, and by her daughter Fran and her husband Steve. Grandma to and loved by Shannon and her husband Steve, and to Carey.
The family immigrated from England in 1957 to make Canada their new home. Although always a Brit, Edith loved Canada and embraced everything about it. You always knew where she was by the sound of her laughter. She always enjoyed a good game of Bridge. She would never say no to a cookie, chocolate, licorice, or a banana. She loved her Dark Roast coffee, or a fresh brewed cup of tea.
Edith had many friends in all the places she called home over the years. She spent her final years at the Village of Taunton Mills and later in the fine care of the staff in the Egerton neighbourhood there.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Low & Low Funeral home in Port Perry. Cremation has taken place and a private family observance and internment has happened at Bayview Cemetery and Crematorium in Burlington, where Edith will rejoin her beloved Ed. Donations in her name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
