Dzidra BERGS Obituary

Passed away peacefully in Port Perry, in her 92nd year.   Beloved wife of the late Gunars Bergs. Loving mother of Arturs (Sandra Deering) and Sandy (Wm. Maurice) Hopkins. Adoring godmother of Jessica (Al and children) Lespier.

Predeceased by parents August and Laura, sister Indra and brothers Andris and Gunis. Survived by brother Ivars. She also leaves a cousin (Mudite) in Latvia. She will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews, and step granddaughters.

Dzidra enjoyed going to the opera and ballet, gardening, reading, crocheting, and collecting antiques. She frequented yard sales and flea markets in search of treasures. Everyone was always welcomed into her home and no one left hungry having enjoyed her home-made meals and baking.

A celebration of Dzidra’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Low & Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach Street, Box 698, Port Perry, Ontario L9L 1A6 (905-985-7331).

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation or the Latvian Canadian Cultural Centre.
