It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Douglas Graham Renwicke on October 7th, 2023 (His 70th birthday) after a courageous battle with blood cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife Julie, daughters Lindsay and Stacey, Son in law Ben, Grandchildren Logan and Henleigh and loving dog Wesley. Caring brother to Don and Jan (Gord).
Doug met his high school sweetheart, Julie, in Scarborough Ontario when they were 15 years old. He started his career with North American Life Assurance Company and later went on to be Senior Vice President of Teledirect (Bell ActiMedia). Doug was a natural born leader and took great pride in his position, known for having a ferocious work ethic.
He treasured the special friendships he made and kept with people over decades. He was an avid angler and had a profound respect for nature. Other passions included motorcycles, golf, his cottage, playing guitar and attending concerts. The band the Eagles, will never have a bigger fan than Doug.
His heart and soul was always his family who whom he was fiercely protective of. Some of his happiest moments were spent sitting in a Muskoka chair at the cottage, staring at the lake, cigar in hand and watching his grandchildren play. He never missed an opportunity for teachable moments or witty punchlines. Doug loved his grand kids and was a hugely proud Gramps.
His love for his daughters was limitless but the biggest love story of his life was the passion and admiration he carried for his wife Julie for 55 years.
Doug... Dad... Gramps... You will be missed but always remembered and forever loved.
