Donald George LYONS

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Donald George Lyons or “Donny” as family and friends called him on March 24 2021 at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. 

Wife to Julie (Nickolson), Father to son Chris (Amanda) and Brother to Glenn. Loving Son-in-law of Mike and Monica Nickolson. Loving Brother-in-law to Gary (Elaine), Carol (the late Doug) and Elaine (David). He will be loved and remembered always by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Sarah Lyons and sister Gail Thrift. 

Born January 25 1947 in Oshawa, Don was born and raised here in Uxbridge. He was a hardworking, outgoing and patient man who loved life and sharing stories. Don worked at General Motors for 32 years before driving for Williamson’s Uxbridge for 12 years. Donny’s favourite things included watching hockey (Philadelphia Flyers​), playing golf, watching Nascar, classic cars and enjoying a coffee at the coffee shop with good friends. 

Donny lived such a full life touching many people’s lives. He created memories and moments with so many. We are so lucky to have had him in our lives. He will be so missed and loved always by his family, friends and pet Toby.

The family would like to thank The Uxbridge Cottage Hospital for taking such great care of him during his time there.

At this time a cremation has taken place, and the arrangements have been trusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Box 388, Uxbridge L9P 1M8 (905-852-3073).
