Dave Muir, 83 peacefully passed away on June 1, 2022 at Lake Ridge Health – Port Perry embraced by the love of his family.
Dave is survived by his wife Bev, son Cam (Eliah, Nadia, Annelie, Olivia, Aeza, Rielle) and daughter Shawn (Jeff and Taylor), brother Bob (Jan) and Bill (Marie).
While working with the Royal Bank, Dave and Bev first came to Port Perry in 1962. They fell in love with the community and established friendships that still remain today. In 1965 Dave began working for Williams Motors. He developed a passion for numbers and problem solving which inspired him go back to school. Dave attended night classes and completed courses through correspondence ultimately becoming a Certified Management Accountant. In 1979 Dave and Bev opened up their Accounting firm. It was here Dave’s true accounting abilities shone, working with small businesses owners and farmers. His favorite time of year became Income tax season! He always looked forward to it. Even into retirement Dave kept active doing taxes. He never wanted to give up the challenge and desire to stay current and filed for the last time this past April for himself, Bev and grandson Taylor.
Dave and Bev had met in High School and would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary this July. We seek comfort in our memories of Dave and the knowledge that the imprint he has had on our lives leaves us better for it.
