Passed away peacefully at Southlake Hospital surrounded by family, listening to his favourite Mozart music on Monday, January 19, 2026 at the age of 85. He leaves behind his loving wife Kathleen “Katy” of 63 years. Roy was the proud father of Mark (Louise), Simon (Estela) and Jennifer (Glen). Loving grandfather to Christine (Dan), Thomas, Malcolm and Michael. He also leaves behind his brothers Jack (Anne) and Phllip (Vivienne) and his nephews Paul, Simon, Richard and Christopher (Rebecca) in England. Roy is predeceased by his brother Mark.
Roy was deeply connected to his community. He was an active participant in the Tai Chi group in Uxbridge for many years. He was also a member of the Oak Ridges Trail Association for over ten years, volunteering as a Trail Captain, helping maintain the trails and preserve the natural beauty he so greatly appreciated. Roy traveled extensively around the world, with his work as a Civil Engineer, but once retired, was happy spending time with his family, enjoying Tai Chi Fridays, and walking the countryside around him.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge (905-852-3073). Donations in memory of Roy may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the C.N.I.B. For online condolences, please visit www.lowandlow.ca
