Carl Evans Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Nelson Evans at Lakeridge Health Port Perry on April 26, 2025. Born in Uxbridge, Ontario on November 23, 1983, Carl is survived by his wife, Christa [nee Lane], parents, Rose [nee Wilson] and Neil Evans, sister, Anna Van Dyke [Owen], brother, Graig Evans  [Amanda] and a hockey team worth of nieces and nephews: Kaydance and Grayson Lane, Violet and Wyatt Fischer, Brayden, Caylee and Ben Evans, Liam and Ayla Van Dyke, and Elayna Lane. A beloved son-in-law, Carl is remembered with great love by his father-in-law, Peter Lane [Janet] and mother-in-law, Vicki Ayer [Ricky]. He will be greatly missed by his brothers-in-law, Joseph [April] and William [Jenna] Lane and sister-in-law, Jennifer [Mike] Fischer.

A devoted and loving father, Carl leaves behind his two daughters, Madeline and Willa.

A special thanks goes out to Nurse Lindsay for her compassionate care and kindness over the last few years.  She is a gift to her profession, each of her patients, and to us as a family.  Thanks also to Dr. Hadden, Dr. Bibby and the nurses at Lakeridge Health Port Perry who showed such care to Carl in his final days.

Taken too young, Carl battled hard to watch his daughters play one more season of hockey and put in place the plan for the upcoming planting season. Taking great care in everything he did, Carl loved his children, wife, family, and friends unconditionally, nurturing them with the same pride and wisdom with which he tended the land and animals in his charge as a fifth generation farmer. Never desiring fame or fortune, his dream was to be a hardworking farmer who grew his farm, built a simple life with his wife, helped a friend or neighbour when needed, shared a laugh, and provided a loving home and example for his children - remembered, in the end, as a good man. In everything but length of time, Carl achieved his greatest dreams.

All are welcome to attend a public celebration of life which will be held at Low and Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905-985-7331) on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 2p.m. to 6 p.m.  A private family service will be held at an earlier date.
