Byron "Butch" K. Simms

Passed away at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on Tuesday June 23, 2026 at the age of 82 years.  Loved and missed by his wife of 55 years; Muriel (nee Lloyd).  Beloved Dad of Peter (Janis), Kyle (Pam) and Brittany Noble (Mike).  Cherished Grandpa of Austin (Baylee), Owen and Erica.  Survived by his sister Karen Vick (Larry).  Predeceased by his siblings Thelda, Jessie, Brad, Nancy, Jack and Judy.

Butch spent  35+ years working for GM.  He dedicated many years holding various board positions including President of the Port Perry Mojacks.  Butch also loved to Golf.  He was always willing to lend a hand and drive anyone where they needed to go.  It would most certainly be an adventure, but rest assured you were taking the long way home down backroads most people never see.  Butch’s pride and joy was his family. Spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Playing games, even if it meant wearing a princess crown. Going for pie, even if it was gross and chucking spoonfuls out the window. Going to the Reptile Zoo, even if he had to sit in very back, far from the snakes. His favorite place was the sidelines of all their sporting events. Cheering them on from the sidelines. Being their number one fan was his dedication.

A Celebration of Butch’s life will be held at Low & Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry on Saturday July 11, 2026 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM with memories being shared at 3:00 PM.
