Bill Durnan

It is with great sadness that the family of (Bill) William John Durnan announce his passing. He passed away peacefully at Caressant Care, Lindsay on Friday June 21, 2024, at the age of 73. Survived by his only daughter Courtney Durnan. Bill was a loving grandfather to Courtney’s daughter and son; Charlie-Rose & Bennett. Stepfather to Todd Pinder & Teresa Wray (Pinder). He will be remembered by his former spouse and mother of all three children Bonnie Pinder. Bill will be deeply missed by his sisters Luva Smith, Florence Mason, Ida Mason, Corrina Durnin, yet reunited with Donna Hiscock. He will be forever loved by his brothers Grant Durnin and Ross Durnin. He was preceded to heaven by his Mother Luva Walker Durnin Mason, Father Bill William Durnin and Stepfather George Mason. Though you are no longer with us, your spirit lives on in the laughter, love, and cherished memories we hold dear.

Son, brother, father, and friend. My dad (Bill) William John Durnan was this and much more. He was someone who followed his own path, and enjoyed meeting people, making many friends along the way. Being the life and soul of the party, he will always be remembered for his sense of humour and charm, whether it be him cartwheeling on the baseball diamond as he plays with his team, stopping the puck as a goalie with his kiss mask on, or hustling his opponent at snooker. Being a man of faith, he took chances at the casino and the racetrack. As a little girl I remember his joy when Christmas came around, or when a Godzilla movie or The Three Stooges was on t.v and especially when we watched the Wizard of Oz together. But most of all I will remember the way he always said, “I love you”. Your family, your friends and I will cherish the memories you gave us. Until we meet again, Rest in peace dad and I love you too xoxo. 

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home, Port Perry.  A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 1PM - 4PM at 975 Ronlea Avenue in Oshawa.
