Beatrice Ruth (Lambert) Harper

August 11, 1929 ~ October 20, 2024 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Beatrice Harper Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Sunday October 20, 2024 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Orillia at the age of 95 years.  Wife of the late Harry Harper (1995).  Loved and will be missed by her children Mildred Graham (Cliff), Bernice Connell (predeceased 2015), Howard (Brenda), Donna Acton and Bob (Chris).  Cherished Grandma of Amanda Barrett (Jay), Nicole Heggie (Mike), Jami (Josh), Clinton (Nicole), Matthew Connell (Katrina), Christopher Connell (predeceased), Patrick Connell, Rachel Connell, and Samantha Graham (Josh). Survived by her sister  Shirley Campbell, brother Lorne Lambert, sisters-in-law Joanne Lambert and Jean Harper.  She will also be missed by her seven Great-Grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Born in Brock Township, Beatrice grew up on the family farm near Woodville and was a member of Junior Farmers. Beatrice also worked for the Department of Agriculture after finishing high school.  Following her marriage to Harry, she lived and worked their farm in Goodwood while raising five children.  Beatrice would next attend Teachers College then taught for 17 years at Goodwood Public School. 

There were many family trips across Canada as well as many years of enjoyment at their family cottage. 

Following Harry’s death, Beatrice assumed his position as a member of the Goodwood Cemetery Board. Beatrice would eventually move to Uxbridge. Here, she regularly played Scrabble and enjoyed meals with her wonderful friends.  Beatrice loved everyone she knew with her whole heart and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A special thank-you to Jennifer Wilson (a former student of Beatrice) who Doctored and cared for her for many years as well as Uxbridge Hospital for their care during several visits over the years.

Many thanks to the wonderful staff of Lakeview Manor in Beaverton for their exemplary care and compassion over the last three years, and to the nurses and doctors at Soldiers Memorial Hospital during her recent stay.

Relatives and friends are invited for visitation at Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge on Sunday November 3, 2024 from 1 – 3 PM.  There will be also be visitation at Goodwood United Church on Monday November 4, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with the memorial service to begin at 1:00pm.  Reception to follow at the Goodwood Community Hall at the conclusion of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice.  Memories and condolences can be shared at www.lowandlow.ca
