Barbara HOOVER Obituary

After a courageous battle to the very end, surrounded by family, Barbara left us peacefully on April 1, 2021 in her 72nd year.  Barbara was a loving daughter to Kathleen Thompson and the late Robert Thompson.  Survived by her loving husband Keith Hoover and daughters Natalie (Chris) O’Toole and Lyndsey (Brody) LaBuick.  She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Rowdy, Charlotte, Paytyn and Paige.  She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Robinson, and had so many friends, family, nieces and nephews that loved her.

Barbara spent her entire career as a teacher for the Toronto District School Board where she impacted the lives of so many students.  She was also extremely passionate about pottery and the art of Raku and was a member of many art groups in and around the Durham area.  She was a long standing member of the Markham fair where she volunteered for over 45 years, a trait that has passed down to her children and grandchildren who now volunteer as well.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.  Arrangements entrusted to the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, P.O. Box 388, Uxbridge, Ontario L9P 1M8 (905) 852-3073.

Donations are welcome and can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
