Passed away peacefully at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Wednesday April 16, 2025 at the age of 86 years, having just celebrated her birthday. Wife of the late Frank Murphy. Lovingly remembered by her children Peter Werheid (Tammy), Peter Murphy (Margaret) and Caroline Werheid (Jim). Cherished Omi of Michael, Kyley, Leeann, Carlene and Rowan and Great Omi of Orien, Nolan and Madeline. Also survived by her siblings; Hilde Volbach (Vivien), Rosemarie (late Heinz) and Johannas Volbach (Karin) and by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Hanni Dahl (Herbert)
Growing up in post war Germany with her close family Anneliese decided to emigrate to Canada in 1958 to follow her life’s ambition. Landing in Gander, NFLD in her high heels and a strong disposition she began her life as a Canadian. Family life soon followed with Konrad and soon after Peter and Caroline. Anne always enjoyed family time that was always enhanced by her great home cooking, and strong cocktails.
A strong work ethic led her into Imperial Oil where she worked her way up to Senior Supervisor of Credit and enjoyed a very successful career. Along the way she met Frank whom they enjoyed the rest of Frank’s life enjoying many trips, events and of course, family parties.
Anneliese was a strong willed and pragmatic woman who was perhaps, ahead of her time and a force to respect and admire.
The family would like to express their upmost thanks to the staff at Douglas Crossing who cared for Anne throughout her last few years and the caring staff at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital who made her last days respectful and comfortable.
Cremation has been entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge Chapel. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Breast Cancer Canada would be appreciated by the family. Friends are invited to send condolences by visiting www.lowandlow.ca
